Foods that help you maintain good immune system during COVID-19

RECIPES

MORINGA FLOWER RASAM

  • Small onions 10
  • Garlic pods 5
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Moringa flower 1 cup
  • Curry leaves few
  • Coriander leaves few
  • Rasam powder 1 tbs
  • Tamarind pulp 1/2 cup
  • Green chili 1
  • Oil 1 tsp

Method

Boil water in a pan , once the water starts boiling add the washed drumstick flowers , add turmeric powder. Allow it to boil in water until its cooked.
Keep it aside.
In a pan heat oil , add mustard seeds once it splitters add crushed garlic, chopped onions and fry well
Add curry leaves and tomatoes wait until the tomatoes are mushy . Add rasam powder
Add tamarind pulp and 1 cup of water and allow it to boil. Add the salt as per taste
Once its boiling add the cooked moringa flowers along with the water
Allow it to boil for 10 min.
Add the chopped coriander leaves .
Hot rasam is ready to serve.

MORINGA LEAVES KOOTU

  • Moringa leaves 1 cup
  • Toor dhal 1 cup
  • Onions 1
  • Garlic pods 5
  • Green chili 1
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1tsp
  • Jeera 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Sambhar powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt as required

METHOD

Pressure cook toor dhal until it is soft
Heat a vessel add the cooked toor dhal
Add chopped onions ,green chillies and garlic pods .
Allow it to cook well for 10 to 15 min.
Add turmeric and sambhar powder mix well and allow it to cook until the raw smell is gone
Add chopped moringa leaves mix well
Add salt as required .
Cook well until the leaves are cooked .
Heat a pan add oil once the oil is hot add mustard and jeera once it splutters add to the kootu.
Moringa leaves kootu is ready .
