According to an article, researchers from Zhejiang Provincial Centre for Disease Control and Prevention found through experiments that in cells cultured in vitro, TEA, which is rich in POLYPHENOLS, works well in killing the virus extracellularly and suppressing its intracellular proliferation. Based on this, the research team suggested that Drinking TEA could help Prevent COVID-19 infections (China DAILY, 2020-03-03). I can’t agree with this report until unless this finding gets the same success in in-vivo study & proven clinically. But I can’t disagree completely as well. This is scientifically proven fact that Resveratrol, a POLYPHENOL strongly inhibited the replication of influenza virus (The Journal of Infectious Diseases, Volume 191, Issue 10, 15 May 2005, Pages 1719–1729). *Influenza type viruses are RNA viruses and COVID19 are also an RNA Virus. TEA (Black or Green) contains ample amounts of polyphenols known as Catechins. Black tea clocks in with 102 mg Polyphenols per 100 mL, and Green tea has 89 mg per 100 mL. COVID-19 Vaccines & Drug development is on fast pace, and world is hopeful to test success very soon-FDA Until then please drink Black or Green Tea & RELAX! Take care of yourself and everyone!
