The Toss:

The match between two new franchisees Lucknow Super Giants vs Gujarat Titans happened on 28th March 2022. Two of the young guns of the Indian Cricket Team, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, were the captains of the respective teams mentioned above. Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Lucknow Super Giants Batting:

Captain KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock come to the crease, and Mohammad Shami opens the bowling attack for the Gujarat Titans. That’s Out. KL Rahul goes for a duck in the first ball caught by Mathew Wade, who plays his first IPL game in 11 years. Once again, Shami strikes; Quinton de Kock goes for seven runs this time.

At the end of four overs, Lucknow Super Giants were 26/3. Shami again comes to attack and strikes again; this time knocks the stumps of Manish Pandey, who gets only six runs.

At the end of the power play, Lucknow Super Giants were 32/4. The captain Hardik Pandya comes to the bowling attack by giving only one run in his first over. Slowly picking up the tenth over was bowled by the mighty Rashid Khan by giving five runs only.


At the end of 10 overs, Lucknow Super Giants were 47/4. Score slowly picks up for Lucknow Super Giants by the steady partnership of Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni.
Rashid Khan bowls the 16th over, picks up Deepak Hooda’s wicket, scores 55 runs in 41 balls, and breaks the partnership that led Krunal Pandya, the brother of Hardik Pandya, into the crease.
After the 17th over, Lucknow Super Giants ticked the score to 124/5, a massive comeback from 47/4 after ten overs. Varun Aaron bowls the last over and picks up the wicket of Ayush Badoni. At the end of 20 overs, Lucknow Super Giants were 158/6.

Gujarat Titans Batting:

Shubman Gill and Mathew Wade opened the batting for Gujarat, and Chameera from Sri Lanka opened the bowling attack. Shubman Gill goes for a duck on the third ball of the first over, and it seems like a payback. Vijay Shankar comes to the crease, and Chameera strikes again, picking Vijay Shankar’s wicket. At the end of 3 overs, Gujarat Titans were 25/2.

Mohsin Khan, the left-arm medium-pace bowler, comes to the attack, following him, the promising Avesh Khan comes into the attack. The Powerplay brought 44/2 runs for Gujarat Titans. Krunal Pandya comes into the bowling attack following the leggie Ravi Bishnoi.

They contained the run flow. At the end of 10 over, Gujarat Titans were 72/2. 11th over bowled by Krunal Pandya picks up the wicket of his brother Hardik Pandya who made quick 33 runs in 28 balls. Miller comes to the crease as a replacement for Hardik Pandya. Deepak Hooda comes into the attack and picks the wicket of Wade after getting 30 runs.

At the end of 12 over Gujarat, Titans were 79/4. Rahul Tewatia comes to the crease; the promising player in Rajasthan Royals last season attacks the bowlers in style.

Slowly the runs start picking up. Miller and Tewatia steady the ship. Avesh Khan bowls the 18th over and picks the wicket of David Miller. Miller gets 30 runs from 21 balls. At the end of 18 overs, Gujarat Titans were 139/5, which brought experienced Chameera into the bowling attack, which paid the way to get 11 runs from 6 balls. Tewatia finishes in style by hitting a 4.
