DEDICATED TO GOD, MY GURUS AND MY FAMILY
Locked up inside our houses, restraining ourselves from routine work life, it has been a journey of nearly four months now.
With a lot of negative aspects about the outbreak put forth, I would like to give an upbeat approach to what we are going through and how to take it forward with furthermore extension of the lockdown.
Once there was a guy who looked so pale, weak, and skinny. He had always dreamt of becoming a bodybuilder and tried every possible means to achieve it.
To his utter dismay, all his efforts were in vain. He prayed to God to give him the strength and a perfect physique.
One day. He had a dream in which God himself appeared in front of him and offered to grant him what he wished for as a boon.
With much confidence that he would finally be able to achieve what he had dreamt of his whole lifetime, he wished for a perfect physique.
God said that “You will get what you ask for. However, you must do a task for me, the accomplishment of which will give you the powers.”
“Open the door, and you will see a boulder in your lawn, once you push it and remove it from its current position, you will be the strongest man in the country.”, he said
With a lot of zeal and perseverance, he continued to do what God had instructed to him. More than a year passed by, and nothing could remove the rock from that place.
Exhausted and drained by the toil he had faced, in doing the endeavour, he questioned the existence of God and the fake promise that was made.
God again reappeared before him and asked him to see himself in a mirror to know what he had achieved.
To his utter amazement, the efforts taken has moulded him into what he expected himself to become years back.
He had his muscles built up due to the work he had done, and he finally achieved what he had dreamt of.
This story is narrated as an ideal example of affirming to each one of us that
“WHAT THE WORK DOES TO US IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT WORK WE DO”

It means that there is always a positive result for each activity that is done in our life.
Say, for instance, the lockdown that we are in, can be the time of revisiting time-worn hobbies and interests.
It can also help us to pursue dreams that were not able to be accommodated due to a hectic lifestyle back then and to enhance knowledge on various subject matters
What this time (work) does can be quantified once everything gets back to normalcy.
When we analyse the guy from the story, it can be said that,
“SITUATIONS THAT LOOK STRENUOUS, FATIGUING OR INTRICATE CAN TURN OUT TO BE A SOLID FOUNDATION LAID DOWN FOR A TRIUMPHANT RESULT LATER IN LIFE.”
Just imagine the plight of the people who are suffering from various social and economic issues right now due to this pandemic.
What Are We Deprived Of?
We often concentrate more on the pain that we finally forget to recognise the fruits reaped through the process endured.
So are we, in a situation right now where we all are stuck in the present and are baffled on what is next.
All we want to do now is to concentrate on what the work does to us as it did to the guy of the story,
DEPENDING ON EACH ONE’S ROLE AIMING AT THE TRANSFORMATION OF SELF WITH AN ULTIMATE OBJECTIVE OF TRANSFORMING THE SOCIETY.
